Our Village |
Shepherdswell is situated between Canterbury and Dover, just off the main A2. There are about 600 households and local amenities include a Co-op Supermarket, two pubs, a post office and general stores, a primary school and a Church. The village hall is host to many social occasions including an annual visit by the Channel Theatre Company.A major tourist attraction is the East Kent Light Railway, a preserved ex colliery line which runs trains to the nearby village of Eythorne. The railway is situated adjacent to the main line railway station in the village.The village is served by a regular train service to Dover and London and an infrequent bus service. There are many organisations in the village, including Women's Institute, Mother Union, Trek Youth Group, Scout and Guide Troops, Art Group and Playgroups.There are many businesses and tradesmen in the village and some of these are listed on this website. There is a monthly Magazine, which gives details of many of the events that take place in the village. |
